TESL-0110-E01 Unit 2 'aha' Moment

Hello!

This week has felt long and short all at the same time. I wasn't really sure if I would even have an 'aha' moment this week, but it certainly came to me when I realized that I left my 'Unit 1 'aha' Moment' as a draft, this happened because I forgot to take the second step to publish it.

So, my 'aha' for this week is that I've started to realize what sort of teaching style I would like to use for ESL teaching. I've never thought about what style or approach to teaching I might take, maybe it's because teaching seems so far away to me, I have so much more to learn in order to teach that I never thought about the actual teaching. Crazy. I still can't believe that I never thought about something like this before, which is why it is my 'aha' moment of the week.

For anyone wondering what approach I think I will be taking to teaching. I thought I would be doing a shallow-ended inductive approach, but I would really rather use deductive and inductive. For an example: I teach a class three times a week, two days a week I use the deductive approach and one day I use the inductive approach, possibly vice versa.

Thanks for reading,

-Bonnie
